What are your goals of participating in this year’s Show?

To encourage and guide museums and galleries across the country to make family visits engaging and enjoyable.

What is your primary role in the sector?

Kids in Museums is an independent charity dedicated to making museums open and welcoming to all families, in particular those who haven’t visited before. We encourage and guide museums and galleries across the country to make family visits engaging and enjoyable.

Why is it important to you to be involved in the Museums + Heritage Show?

It’s our chance to meet museums and heritage venues from across the whole country under one roof!

What can visitors expect by visiting your stand?

The opportunity to speak directly with the Kids in Museums’ team who can answer questions and offer advice. We can signpost people to new resources we have available on our website.

What do you think are some of the key challenges professionals are currently facing in this sector?

  • Funding uncertainties
  • Resources available, including staffing levels
  • Attracting visitors who are also influenced by external factors e.g. ticket prices, travel costs etc.
  • Diversifying the workforce and visitors/users

What are you looking forward to most at this year’s Museums + Heritage Show?

All of it! Meeting and talking to different colleagues in person, seeing what other venues and organisations are offering. Gaining insight and ideas to take forward into our future plans.
