With wide ranging experience in private, public and voluntary sectors, Fullerton is well respected for his work in setting strategic direction, leading organisational change and promoting people development.

Currently Director of Xi Engineering Consultants Ltd and Chairman of Inquisitive Systems Ltd Manus also sits on the Board of VisitScotland. In recent years he has served as Chair of the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland, Director of Social Investment Scotland and the Vice Chair of BBC Children In Need Appeal Scotland. He has held several senior positions in Lloyds Banking Group, including Executive Director Lloyds TSB Scotland plc.

Lynne Halfpenny, Chair of the MGS Board Nominations Committee, said: “We are very fortunate to have Manus as the new Chair of MGS. As a strategic thinker with a track record of successfully developing and deploying plans and projects he will be a huge asset in leading the national development body’s work to develop a sustainable museums and galleries sector.”

Fullerton, said: “The ability to make a real and lasting positive impact on the future of the museums and galleries sector in Scotland attracted me to this role. I look forward to working with MGS and the sector to achieve this and more in the coming years.” Fullerton will commence his new role in July when current MGS Chair, Douglas Connell steps down due to his relocation to England.

Museums Galleries Scotland is the National Development Body for museums and galleries in Scotland and offers strategic development support to the sector.
