Elmwood Project’s brief was to produce the highest quality fit out for one of the nation’s most prestigious organisations by attention to detail, assigning the right people to the project and effective communication with the design team and client.

“The project had varying degrees of complexity from the project management of all of the subcontracted elements including graphics, AV and display cases but also the intricacies of the setworks for all of these items to integrate with,” says Ryan Carlton, Elmwood Project’s Business Development Manager. “The programme was met and it opened on time.”

The project was designed by Mather & Co who, working closely with the client, produced a design that Elmwood went on to interpret and provide detailed technical design to manufacture the products.

At the Royal Mint Experience there is an interactive exhibition with different zones including: Making Money and the Royal Mint and the World.

Elmwood says it always considers the end user when starting out on a project as well as the client’s desires, programme length, in terms of design, fabrication and installation. Then they look at how they can project manage their own processes together with the specialist subcontractors they carefully select to work with them on the exhibition fit out.

“The overall considerations are much the same, but good exhibitions in today’s society generally entails increased interactivity with exhibits and increasingly, the use of the latest technologies,” says Carlton. “That’s not to say traditional exhibitions are no longer good, we still love working on the more traditional as well as the contemporary.”
