Amersfoort Zoo was founded in 1948 by two former schoolmates, Piet Knoester and Wim Tertoolen. Now, 68 years later the park is still a family business and the CEO Mr Fred Vis, the grandson of founder Wim Tertoolen, now runs the business.

Initially the collection of animals was relatively small, however an increasing number of visitors made the collection expand rapidly. Now, in 2016, the park has a total of 1,500 animals and covers an area of almost 47 acres.

Each year the Zoo welcomes more than 800,000 visitors, which means it is now necessary to offer a fully integrated ticketing system to improve both the visitor experience and business.

What Syx will provide Amersfoort Zoo

 ReCreatex Software & web shop
The implementation of different integrated ReCreateX-modules such as POS, membership and inventory management guarantees a fast and efficient handling of ticket sales and stock records.

Via the ReCreatex web shop all visitors are able to purchase tickets and season passes online.

The mPos-application will be deployed in catering facilities. The mPos-app is specially designed as an easy, smart and simple check-out for the visitor attraction industry. The app can be downloaded on any smartphone or tablet and is ready to use instantly. Staff can carry a fully and complete POS system with a POS device and even an easily attainable payment terminal. Visitors will be catered to their wishes in a fast and effortless way. The mPos-app works alongside the ReCreatex desktop application.

 Hardware

To ensure an easy and fast purchase at the entrance, various hospitality outlets and retail shops are equipped with the new HP RP2 check-out points. The HP RP2 is an all-in-one retail system with low maintenance, smart design, compact touchscreen with reliable and robust performance.

 Self-service kiosk

Via the ultramodern and intuitive self-service kiosk any visitor is able to purchase entrance and parking tickets. This will ensure that the long queues at the main entrance or at the guest service desk are downsized.

Parking barriers

Syx Automations will provide two exit pillars with a barcode reader to open and close the gate of the parking lot.

Together with this advanced automation we are looking to contribute to an optimal customer experience for the visitors of Amersfoort Zoo.
