REMIX was created as a forum for people interested in this debate to meet, share ideas and collaborate. We wanted to bring together thought leaders and innovators from across industries to explore the big ideas shaping the future of the cultural sector.

We had no idea how this idea of bringing the cultural, technology and startup worlds together would work but right from the start we were blown away by the response. Cultural leaders like Hans-Ulrich Obrist from The Serpentine and Matthew Slotover, Co-Founder of Frieze where joined on stage by a new generation of cultural pioneer such as Secret Cinema founder Fabien Riggall and debated with Directors of Sony, Google and Blackberry. The event sold out immediately, trending all day on Twitter in the UK. In just two years REMIX has expanded to a global event with summits in New York, London and Sydney and other locations coming soon.

The response to REMIX shows the huge appetite in the sector for this kind of thinking and approach and it’s an incredibly exciting time for those of us engage in culture looking to work in new ways.

This year we have teamed up with the Arts Council England and The British Council to create a special day-long REMIX Academy Summit hosted at the stunning Level39 space at the top of Canary Wharf. The day brings together hundred of creative leaders and innovators to discover, share and explore new ways of building big ideas in the cultural and creative industries – looking at the entrepreneurial approaches and revolutionary business models that are transforming the sector.

The event features over 30 world-class speakers, including Hay Festival director Peter Florence, Guardian CEO Andrew Miller, Barbican director of audiences Leonora Thomson, Jack Wills founder Peter Williams, Canon Marketing director Susie Donaldson, Arts Council executive director of London Moira Sinclair, Rough Trade co-owner Stephen Godfroy, Liverpool Biennial director Sally Tallant, Google head of global marketplace development Ben Barokas, BBC digital strategy and new business VP Chris Whiteley and Wilderness Festival founder Jo Vidler. Plus speakers from Aardman Animation, Change.org, YPlan, Futurecity and Tech stars.

For a short time only REMIX have a special Late Bird offer where delegates will receive a discount of £50 off the standard conference price – if you book before June 16 or before tickets sell out.
