Metaphor began by creating a new museum masterplan that extended and revamped the museum’s existing building and re-told their story to fit better with the needs of the modern movement and to reach out to new audiences. The project extended out into the landscape, which they redesigned with Jean-Yves le Baron, paysagiste, to give the museum a far more impressive entrance sequence. Mather and Co, Paragon Creative and Centre Screen joined the project in 2012 to realise it. The new Museum opened on 21st December 2013 and has already had 45,000 visitors. It is engaging visitors physically, intellectually and emotionally with the Olympic Movement.

Museums + Heritage Advisor will be exploring the project in detail during February.
