Arts Council England (ACE) announced the Museum Resilience Fund in September 2014 with a budget of £10m with indicative budgets for 2016/17 and 2017/18, which are now subject to the review.

ACE will be launching the next round of the Museum Resilience Fund in January 2016 with projects covering an 18-month period beginning in October 2016, which will be completed by 31 March 2018.

“The indicative budgets were proposed figures and subject to the Grant in Aid settlement we receive from government in the spending review,” said a statement. “We’re postponing applications until after that so we know exactly how much money is going to be available for the next round.”

The Museum Resilience Fund is the only strategic fund that is Grant in Aid, and therefore no other funds are being suspended.

The fund was sent up as a response to ‘a challenging time for funding in the sector’ with the focus for 2015-18 on building a more resilient museums sector.
