Having already attracted over 110,000 visitors to Rochdale’s Number One Riverside on the penultimate stop of its UK-wide journey, the future of Dippy on Tour is no longer certain.

Acknowledging that the health and safety of residents and visitors must take priority, Rochdale Borough Council stated “now is the time to take a pause” before re-evaluating the show’s future.

Following hugely popular visits to Dorset County Museum, Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery, Ulster Museum, Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, Great North Museum: Hancock, and National Museum Cardiff, the disruption of Dippy’s temporary residency in Rochdale has left the touring exhibition’s future in the balance.

Following the scheduled spell in Rochdale, all that was left for Dippy was a stay at Norwich Cathedral between 11th July and 31st October to have completed its nationwide tour.
