A new partnership struck with King & McGaw, a specialist producer of on-demand print artworks, will see an initial 77 photographs made available in a range of sizes and formats for purchase via the museum’s website.

Images of heritage cars from makers such as Austin Healey, Triumph and Austin will be sold for the first time ever, alongside iconic motor industry advertising and unique images of famous motoring enthusiasts including Winston Churchill.

“It is part of the museum’s ethos to make our collection as accessible to as many people as possible – this new initiative will allow motoring fans to own their very own bit of British motoring heritage,” says Toby Batchelor, head of commerce at the British Motor Museum.

Each print, framed print or canvas will be produced at the King & McGaw workshop in East Sussex and retail for between £25 and £200.

Having previously worked with institutions including the V&A and National Gallery, King & McGaw were “highly recommended by other museums”, Batchelor notes, “so we know that we are offering our customers the very best of British in supplying our unique prints”.

The museum plans to keep expanding the range of images available for purchase, with a key aim of the initiative to support collections care and archiving at the site.
