Major two day sector event, the Museums + Heritage Show, is to celebrate its 30th anniversary in 2022 with a return to its London venue.

The free event returns to Olympia on 11th and 12th May 2022, and will be a chance for professionals in the museums and heritage sectors to meet in person for conversation, networking and a schedule of more than 40 sessions and 80 speakers over three theaters.

Attendees will hear from industry leading speakers including Emmie Kell, the new Director of Museums and Cultural Property, Arts Council England; Bernard Donghue, ALVA; and Kate Mavor, Chief Executive, English Heritage.

Among the talks, Donghue will explore the sector’s learnings over the last two years in his session ‘Repair, Recovery and Renewal’.

Emma Stirling-Middleton, Curator at The Cartoon Museum will share how she creatively translated her experience with large national museum level projects into smaller exhibitions, with practical advice on DIY design and build and effective collaboration with volunteers.

The team at The Horniman Museum will share what they wish they’d known before making their environmental pledges, and how they’re making it work in their talk ‘Jumping in feet first’.

Across the event’s wealth of talks, wide-ranging topics will include resilience, income generation, sustainability, community engagement, learning and wellbeing.

As the Show returns to an in-person venue, it will also be an opportunity to meet up with other attendees for networking and conversation in a COVID-aware, mask-friendly event.
