Following the model utilised to great success by many animal charities, the Museum will now offer adoption packages for items ranging commemorative beer mats to full size aircraft. Three tier options – Standard, Enhanced and Exclusive – provide opportunities for individuals or corporate customers to donate from £25 and up.
“Support from adoptees will help the Museum continue sharing the RAF Story, past, present and future, to engage, inspire and encourage learning for current and future generations,” notes Edward Sharman, head of development at RAF Museum. “This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of the RAF’s history and to receive something unique in return for this support.”
Anyone purchasing an adoption pack receives a digital adoption certificate and photo of their adopted artefact, along with updates and information on the chosen object throughout the year.
Recognition of adoption will feature alongside the object on the Museum’s new digital collections system. When bought as a gift, customers can also include a dedicated message along with the name of adoptee.
