Last year the charity helped raise more than £4m to support the conservation and development of the Royal Pavilion & Museums, share its collections, and boost arts, culture and heritage provision in the region. The Foundation also raised the funds to complete the restoration of the Royal Pavilion Saloon, and one of the building’s three grand state rooms which served as the principal reception room for George IV’s guests.

Professor Julian Crampton, Chairman of the Board of the Royal Pavilion & Museums Foundation, said: “HRH The Prince of Wales’ continued support is great news for the charity and its supporters. The Royal Pavilion was built by the then Prince of Wales, George, in 1787, and it is very fitting that HRH The Prince of Wales will be Patron when the historic restoration of the Saloon is completed in 2017.”
