Crown Fine Art, a company that ensures the safe transportation and handling of works of art worldwide, has invested in a new collection of state-of-the-art vehicles with enhanced security and locking features.

The three transportation trucks supplement an existing fleet and have been specially adapted to support the specialist work Crown Fine Art undertakes as a preventative conservator.

Each journey is monitored and logged via satellite tracking systems and clients are able to log in to a secure Crown Fine Art website allowing them to follow their consignment’s road trip via the remote ‘live’ CCTV system. Other features include full length tail-lifts to make loading and unloading easier.

David Preston, General Manager, Crown Fine Art said: “We’re delighted with our new trucks. Their high specification and special features enhance the delicate and often difficult work we undertake and our clients can take comfort in the fact that we have some of the most modern and bespoke vehicles available to transport their precious art works.”

The fleet of Renault Midlum trucks includes a tailor-made solution to accessing restricted-height historical buildings as well as a 16 tonne box vehicle with an internal height of 308cms – one of the highest trucks available in the UK.

With many collections housed in unusual locations and comprising large artworks and sculptures, the additional vehicles allow Crown to accommodate its clients’ varied requirements.

Furthermore, the carefully selected vehicles offer seating for up to seven people in air conditioned cabs, on-board wifi and spacious surroundings, providing a comfortable travelling environment for couriers accompanying their consignment.

The trucks are all fitted with air-ride suspension to guarantee the smoothest possible journey for the vulnerable artworks as they are transported to their new destination. They also feature the quietest, greenest climate control system available on the market to maintain the perfect ambient environment for the duration of the trip.
