For us all here at Elmwood Projects, the Permanent Collection Display at the New Design Museum was exactly this.

As prestigious and exciting projects go; this is right up there with the best of them. Our delight in winning the contract allows us to engage as part of a great delivery team of professionals and curatorial experts, namely; The Design Museum’s passionate curatorial team, the very creative designers at Studio Myerscough, cost consultants Turner Townsend and contract administrators Gardiner & Theobald.

The permanent exhibition ‘Designer Maker User’ will use the museum’s collection to look at the development of modern design through these three interconnected roles. The exhibition is set on the top floor of the new museum and is set to be situated there for around seven years – which is effectively permanent in comparison to today’s average exhibition life span.

This is absolutely a project to keep an eye out for. We’re just getting started on site but the exhibition is full of engaging and insightful elements. It’s due to open on November 24 2016. Pencil this one in your diary!
