The Silverstone Heritage Experience project will bring the extensive heritage of the country’s only licensed formula one circuit and British motor racing to life through the creation of a dynamic and interactive visitor experience and tours around the site. The long-standing partnership between Mather & Co and the Silverstone Heritage Experience dates back to 2012 and the project will ensure that this heritage is explained and interpreted for today’s public as well as being protected for future generations through state-of-the-art displays and a new Collections and Research Centre located at the main entrance to the circuit.
“As well as celebrating British motor racing, the project will also bring a range of opportunities to young people in the local area,” said Chris Mather, Managing Director at Mather & Co. “Our ambition is that the exhibition will be highly animated and interactive in telling the stories of this great sport.”
On display will be a selection of the most important and impressive examples of cars and motorcycles whose provenance is tied to Silverstone. Exhibits will also incorporate the latest technology to tell the compelling stories of the people that are part of the famous site’s history along with those who have played an integral part in the history of British motor racing.
As well as Prince Harry, the project is also supported by other patrons whose names are synonymous with success in British motor sport, including: Ross Brawn OBE, Martin Brundle, Howden Ganley, Damon Hill OBE, Nigel Mansell CBE, Sir Stirling Moss OBE, Sir Jackie Stewart OBE, Murray Walker OBE and Derek Warwick.

The Silverstone Heritage Experience will open in October 2018.
