The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo has introduced secure mobile digital ticketing for the first time thanks to a new partnership with SECUTIX.

Following a competitive pitch, The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo has appointed SECUTIX as its new Ticketing Technology Partner on a multi-year agreement. The announcement marks the first major live entertainment client for SECUTIX in the UK.

After two years of cancelled events due to the ongoing impact of the pandemic, The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo will be back in August 2022 with a bold and exciting vision for the future. As part of this vision, the technology solutions from SECUTIX will be utilised to ensure a smooth ticketing experience for audiences.

SECUTIX’s mobile ticketing solution, TIXNGO, will deliver secure digital tickets through a new Tattoo app, whilst its S-360 platform will feature a 3D interactive seat map allowing guests to view, compare and choose their seats using a virtual, 360-degree panoramic view of the iconic Edinburgh Castle Esplanade. The platform will also sell the new five tier membership scheme; hospitality packages; and, as a registered charity, process charitable donations to the Tattoo.

Buster Howes, Chief Executive of The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo, said: “2022 marks a new era for The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo. The last two years gave us an opportunity to review and reinvigorate our brand vision, strategy, and operations to ensure we continue to meet the needs of our guests, not just for today, but also in the future.

“We chose SECUTIX because of their work on some of the world’s biggest and best events and track record on delivering digital transformation for their partners. We hope to leverage this next generation ticketing technology and expertise to help us achieve our vision for the future of the Tattoo.”

David Hornby, MD of SECUTIX UK & Ireland, added: “We’re incredibly proud to be working with one of the most iconic events in the UK, The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo, particularly at this exciting moment in its history as it looks to broaden its appeal to new audiences. Our open cloud technology will help the team get closer to guests, understand their needs and requirements and continue to deliver the best customer experience.”

The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo runs from 5-27th August 2022. Tickets go on general sale on 1st December 2021 at 10am GMT.
