Paragon Creative has been awarded the contract for new exhibition that tells the story of the Royal Navy’s Bighi Hospital in Malta. For 140 years, the hospital provided a crucial medical service for the British and allied forces in this strategic location in the middle of the Mediterranean.

The £80,000 exhibition forms part of Malta’s first National Interactive Science Centre, which will occupy the historic hospital complex, once the buildings are restored.

This complex is located in the historic Cot Lift building positioned on top of a cliff overlooking the Grand Harbour, once home to the British Mediterranean Fleet.

The Cot Lift is a historic lift designed to take wounded sailors and soldiers from the ships moored in the harbour below for treatment in the hospital above. The lift is being upgraded to allow visitors arriving from cruise ships to access the Science Centre and its exhibitions.
