About

Since 1886, Création Baumann has been developing and producing high-quality textile solutions in its own factory in Langenthal, at the heart of Switzerland.

In the process, the family-run company, now in its fourth generation, has constantly evolved in terms of aesthetics, technology, quality and sustainability. A global leader in acoustic solutions for interior design, the brand is driven by a pioneering spirit, which continues to provide textile innovations.

Création Baumann offers 10 specialist, conservation grade fabrics in over 400 colours, tested at our in-house laboratory for harmful substances, ensuring the protection of the art pieces and objects on display. Certificates include the Oddy test, pH value and colourfastness. The Oeko-Tex® Standard 100 certification confirms that the fabrics are harmless to human health.

Création Baumann also has a large selection of decorative and functional fabrics specified worldwide by some of the most renowned cultural institutions: from sound absorption, to glare and light protection, dimming solutions, as well as fabrics for digital printing and laser cut bespoke products. With high stock levels across the main product lines, fabrics are available for efficient and quick delivery on a weekly and daily basis.

Some recent exhibitions at the prestigious institutions below have enjoyed working with us:

  • Spanish Gallery, Auckland Project, Durham by Studio MB
  • Living with God, British Museum by Reals Studios
  • Africa Fashion, V&A, London by West Port Architects
  • Spellbound, Ashmolean Museum, University of Oxford by Stanton Williams
  • Animals: Art, Science and Sound, British Library, London
  • The Art of Innovation, Science Museum, London.

Testimonials

For this project, although we did not have a great number of showcases, the client still required all materials that were touching the artefacts to be Oddy test passed P. Many of the paintings were high value loan objects from National institutions with specific display requirements so we needed to ensure that these requirements were met which is why we started looking at the Creation Baumann ranges.

The range of colours and types of fabric available is great. Samples are always sent out promptly. The team are pro-active and are keen to assist with queries, problem solving or suggestions. The website is user friendly and allows you to search fabrics by qualities, including fire rating or Oddy

Test pass.
