About

Founded in 1989, Imagemakers was born out of a life-long passion to bring heritage to life. We love what we do and take a thoughtful, creative and practical approach to each project we work on. From concept to scheme sign off, we combine creativity with practicality to overcome the toughest logistical and design challenges no matter the project size, subject matter or setting.

We have delivered over 1,000 successful projects for clients throughout the UK and the Far East. Our multi-disciplinary team of designers, planners and project managers has developed intelligent and creative interpretation and education solutions for numerous museums, heritage attractions, scheduled monuments, historic houses, ecclesiastical buildings, parks and gardens.

Our interpretive design knowledge is extensive: we have an in-depth understanding of 2D and 3D design, graphics, low-tech’ and high-tech’ interactivity, audio and AV, touchscreens, virtual and augmented reality, digital technology, smart phone and tablet apps, interpretive art and outdoor installations, signage, live and living history interpretation, play equipment and other media.

We apply a range of research, consultation and creative techniques to all projects. This includes qualitative and quantitative analyses, workshops, focus groups, brainstorming, formative valuation and testing. We are mindful of technological developments and the impact this has on visitor experiences and expectations. Our creative thinking, combined with our knowledge of ever-changing, cutting-edge technology, adds interest and excitement and enables our clients’ stories to be told in truly engaging ways.

We have a long-established working knowledge of the HLF and a strong track record of delivering successful HLF funding applications. We have undertaken countless Heritage Grant and landscape Partnership commissions at Round 1 and/or Round 2 with 100% success in terms of a funding award outcome.

With 15 UK staff and 3 in China, plus a roster of freelancers and associates, we have a flexible team capable of planning and delivering projects of all sizes at home and abroad.
