We Are Culture and Heritage

It's not about the projects, it's about the people. We are truly unique because we specialise in developing projects that make a genuine difference for people and places by putting people before the project.

Who we are and what do we do

Tricolor Associates are a team of expert arts, culture, and heritage consultants. Our clients are people who want to use culture to bring positive change to people and communities. We work with theatres, museums, heritage sites, festivals, charities, foundations and trusts, as well as local authorities to help them develop plans that have lasting social and economic impact through culture and heritage.

We are National Lottery Heritage Fund specialists and have helped clients secure over £160m from the Arts Council and the Heritage Fund. Our highly experienced Tricolor team will work with you to develop a compelling application to NLHF and other funders, from the Expression of Interest, Funding Application, Business Plan, Activity Plan / Activity Statement, and Interpretation Plan / Interpretation Statement.  Our proven research and consultation approach ensures that all our clients’ proposals respond to local needs and market demands. We can work with you through each stage of your Arts Council, National Lottery Heritage Fund, or other funders, relationships.

We are also exceptional Change Managers, project developers, and fundraisers who are able to help cultural organisations, start from the beginning if they need it, to establish an ambitious and inspiring vision as well as strategic plans. This includes site investment and masterplanning, governance and management improvement, and commercial and business planning.

We then support our clients with change through creative and empathetic change management and delivery, operational management improvements, as well as revitalising the visitor experience and interpretation through universal concept design, digital and experiential audience engagement, and finally, evaluation and monitoring.

Our commitment to developing projects that put people first – focused on the social and economic impact on place in that order – has been also recognised in the sector not just by the exceptional reputation we hold with funders and clients, by also as winners of the SME News NPO Consulting Managing Director of the Year 2022 and the Museum & Heritage Awards Supplier of the Year 2021.
