Carroll said Mawer’s “astute and compassionate leadership” has been “nothing short of remarkable” for Allchurches Trust. “His time as chairman has been transformative, with the Trust growing in both scale and impact to become a true force for good,” he added.

Carroll’s credentials

Tim Carroll has spent the majority of his career in the financial services industry, working for organisations such as Lloyd’s, Swiss Re’s UK holding company, GE Insurance Solutions and GE Reinsurance Inc.

He has also held a number of roles within industry, with bodies including the International Underwriting Association, Insurance Institute of London and Insurers’ Livery Company.

“I feel hugely privileged to be stepping into the role as chairman at such an exciting time for the Trust; a time when we are becoming more strategic and intentional in our grant-giving and putting an even greater focus on supporting those most in need, as well as adding value to our beneficiaries over and above giving them a grant through guidance, sharing best practice and brokering partnerships,” Carroll continued.

Mawer, who will officially leave his post on 31st December, noted: “I shall leave Allchurches confident that in Tim Carroll it has a worthy new leader who will be supported by an excellent group of Trustees as well as an energetic team of staff.

“I look forward to seeing the Trust continue to flourish as it further increases its support for organisations and communities in need in the years ahead.”
